What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is widely known and goes well beyond just simple relaxation. The benefits of a massage include: relaxation of the muscles and tendons; increased flexibility; reduced anxiety; reduced insomnia; balanced muscles; increased circulation and blood oxygenation; reduced pain; and many more.
Deep-tissue thermal massage effects relaxes the muscles and tendons around the spine, relieving pressure on the spinal cord, unblocking nerves, and adjusting the spine. The massage also stretches the spine to release pressure from the spinal fluid and discs that act as cushions between each vertebrae. Spinal massaging prevents stiffening, weakening, and hunching of the back.
Massage Recovery Reactions can vary after any massage and symptoms may occur several times throughout your body's detoxification process. Recovery reactions may arise immediately and up to 3 to 5 days after first massage. Reactions will vary from individual to individual. Some factors correlated with recovery reactions involve: the individual’s general state of health; medication the patient may be currently taking or those taken in the past; diet; physical activity; and, the amount of stress the person may be experiencing at the present time. Some people experience recovery reactions days after their first use... some never experience them at all. The most important way to reduce or eliminate such recovery reactions is to flush the released toxins out of the body by drinking plenty of water. If you feel great after your first session, this may indicate that your body’s healing speed is faster than the speed of its waste excretion. If this is the case, you are fortunate!
If you experience recovery reactions, continued use is encouraged to get your body's natural healing ability back in balance. Some of us do strenuous physical exercise to keep our bodies in shape, and just like physical exercise, the consistent receipt of massages helps achieve the desired results of health and well-being. Please remember that recovery reactions are normal and can lead to a healthier you!
